We are excited to announce that Mark Howard, Troy Swackhammer, Rebecca Broussard, and Chris Perry will be in person this year! The workshop will also be broadcast virtually.

What makes this year’s in-person event unique?

This year, Witt O’Brien’s will host:

• Mark Howard, the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) program Subject Matter Expert (SME), with EPA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
• Troy Swackhammer, the EPA’s Facility Response Plan (FRP) SME, with EPA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
• Rebecca Broussard, the EPA’s new FRP Hazardous Substances rule SME, with EPA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
• Chris Perry, the lead FRP and SPCC inspector in EPA Region 6.

This three-day workshop will offer a unique opportunity to hear directly from the FRP, new Hazardous Substances Rule, and SPCC program SMEs on complying with these regulations and hearing the “boots on the ground” perspective of a field inspector for EPA Region 6.
 
Participants will have an opportunity to hear directly from Mark and Troy about how EPA’s Headquarters expects them to comply with the SPCC and FRP regulations, ask questions, and meet with them one-on-one. Additionally, as many of our participants are in EPA’s Region 6, participants will have an opportunity to meet with Chris, a field inspector.

Furthermore, Rebecca Broussard will present on the EPA’s new Hazardous Substances rule. This rule is still new. This will be an introductory workshop on the new rule’s requirements and a Q&A on what the EPA can address now (EPA and Industry are actively learning together as this rule just hit the press in 2024).
